You are back home with your new family member. You ask, “What can I do with my droid now?” Download the Droid Depot App developed by Disney. Your droid can feel like their back at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge without leaving the comfort of your home. The app is FREE to download with the App Store and Google Play. I have it downloaded on my iPhone and iPad. It works perfectly on both devices. In your order for the app to work, the remote control you received with your droid must be off. In addition, your droid must be turn on so it can sync with the app.

Features of the Droid Depot App

There are 4 features – Maneuvering, Droid Building, Strategy, and Piloting. Please note you will need a droid to use most of the features. You can build one at the Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Maneuvering

Maneuvering is where you can have your droid dance/move to some music from Stars Wars. First, you will select 1 out of the 3 tracks. The tracks are some music you will hear from DJ R3X at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Then you will choose different movements and put them in a sequence. Once you are done, hit initiate. Your droid is now dancing and partying like they are in Oga’s Catina. This is one of my favorite features of the app.

Tip- If you want your droid to dance/party to different music, turn down the volume (the device the app is on) while the droid is dancing. On another device, play whatever song/track you like. Boom! Your droid is dancing to other music.

Droid Building

Droid Building is where you can build a virtual droid with the selected options. This is the only feature of the app you can use if you do not have a droid. My opinion is that this is a low point of the app. You just put together a virtual droid, but it does not do anything other than sit in your virtual collection.

Strategy

Strategy is where you can play Tic-Tac-Toe with your droid. This is my other favorite feature of the app. There are 2 modes- EASY & HARD. Your droid interacts while playing making moves and sounds. It will be random on who will make the first move.

Piloting

Piloting is a remote control that is now on your device. One thing I like about this feature is your droid will talk more frequently. With the regular remote control, you have to press the talk button to get your droid to make sounds.
