The Country Fried Steak at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is one of the best meals I ever had while dining in Disney Springs! It is heaven!

Be sure to check out my favorite/finds of Disney/Universal merchandise on my Amazon Storefront.

The details of this Country Fried Steak were based on my visit earlier this year (2022).

Type of Cusine at Art Smith’s Homecomin’?

If you are unfamiliar with Art Smith’s Homecomin’, it is a Disney Springs restaurant that serves good ole southern cooking cuisine by the celebrity chef Art Smith. They are open for lunch and dinner. On the weekend, they serve brunch. Dishes you can find there include their famous fried chicken, fried chicken, and doughnuts (kind a play on fried chicken and waffles), shrimp and grits, and much more. The staff was so accommodating with my husband who is a picky eater. They switch out the fried chicken with boneless fried chicken and doughnuts dish.

They also serve some alcoholic beverages, and my favorite is the moonshine which they have a variety of. Click here to read my blog post to learn more about their moonshine.

They also offer desserts. One of my favorites is their key lime pie! Super refreshing!

Reservations

Reservations are not required, but I highly recommend them because this is a popular restaurant. I have seen wait times up to 2 hours. Reservations are available to reserve 60 days in advance through Disney My Experience. If you are staying on Disney property, you can make reservations 60 days (6 a.m. EST) before the start of your vacation. One of the many perks of staying at Disney.

If you cannot get a reservation, I recommend getting there right when they open. Wait times are typically not as long when they first open.

Details of the Country Fried Steak at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

When this dish came to our table, my mouth watered! It looked so inviting that I dug right in! The taste matched the beautiful presentation.

The country-fried steak comes with crispy and flavorful battered, and the steak was seasoned well. I was surprised by the size of the steak. It was huge, and it took over most of the plate.

I could have easily shared it with another person (most of their main plates are like this). I am not complaining because it made delicious leftovers.

Topping the steak is sawmill gravy. This is one of the best-tasting gravies I had. It was so flavorful! It complemented the steak so well.

The country-fried steak comes with 2 sides. The time I ordered this the 2 sides that came with mine were mashed potatoes and corn succotash. The mashed potatoes are topped with the same gravy as the steak. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and pillowy and tasted like heaven. I could have eaten a whole bowl of them.

The succotash reminded me of a corn-side salad. It brought a nice refreshing element to the dish.

The only complaint I have with this meal is that I wished they served more of their delicious gravy with it. I say that is that I didn’t have enough gravy for my leftovers.

Looking for a flavorful and fulfilling meal along with an outstanding staff while visiting Orlando? I recommend trying out the Country Fried Steak at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. It is definitely some good ole elevated southern home-style cooking! My family and I are always full and happy when we leave and never disappointed!
