One of the perks of staying at a Disney Resort is the different activities they offer (some included (free) and some cost additional). The Kapala Ki’i T-Shirt Stamping at the Aulani is one of the premium (additional cost) activities they offer guests to do during their stay.

Information for this activity is based on when I participated in it back in June 2022.

Details of the Kapala Ki’i T-Shirt Stamping at the Aulani

With this activity, not only are you making something you get a little lesson in which the cast members share a brief history of Kapa printing and its importance. This activity is inspired by the art of Native Hawaiian Kapa printing.

Reservations

Space is limited for this activity, and reservations are highly encouraged. I made my reservation days before the activity due to not wanting to chance it being filled. I am glad I did since the session I attended was filled up. The payment was due at the time I made the reservation.

Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a paid and participating adult to do this activity.

My husband, who did not want to make one, was allowed to attend. We did this activity together like the Pop Century Tied Dye T-shirt. He had to stand since chairs were only provided for paid participants.

Check the Aulani Resort app for this activity’s dates and times.

Location

This activity is offered in the Pau Hana Room on the first floor near one of the entrances to the ‘Ewa Tower of the Aulani. This is where you will need to make the reservations.

Materials

All the materials you will use in this activity are provided.

  • Stamps
  • Fabric Paint
  • Paint Brushes -used to put paint on to the stamps
  • T-Shirt/Tote Bag

Cost

For this activity, you can choose to stamp a t-shirt or canvas tote bag.

  • Adult t-shirt $18 plus tax
  • Childern t-shirt $15 plus tax
  • Canvas tote bag $18 plus tax

T-Shirt After-Care Instructions

Before washing, you will need to allow the paint to dry for 4 hours. After the 4 hours, the t-shirt will need to be placed in the dryer for 30 minutes on the hottest setting. This helps set the paint. There is a laundry room on the Aulani Property to use if your room doesn’t have a washer/dryer. However, it does cost to do so.

A hack I did was using the blow dryer instead of the dryer. I did it in increments of 5 minutes for 30 minutes. My t-shirt got washed when I arrived back home. I think my hack worked and pleased with how the t-shirt turned out.

Additional Details

It is recommended to wear clothes that you do not mind getting paint on due to the use of fabric paint in this activity.

Cancelations can be made for this activity but have to be done at least 24 hours before. Be sure to check Aulani’s daily schedule for any changes to the activity.

Both my husband and I enjoyed Kapala Ki’i T-Shirt Stamping at the Aulani. It was informational and fun. It will be something both my hubby and I cherish doing together.
