The hottest trend to take over Disney is the nuiMOs. You may ask yourself, What is a Disney nuiMOs? They are tiny plush Disney characters, which you can customize with the latest style in fashion/accessories.

Where does the name nuiMOs come from?

nuiMOs first originated in Japan. The word nuiMOs comes from two Japanese words – “nuigurumi” which means plush, and “moderu” which means model.

Disney introduced them over here in January 2021. I am glad they did because I am totally obsessed with them! They have become my new stylin’ travel buddies! Currently, I have two (Minnie Mouse and Eeyore), but I want more. 

Which Disney Characters are available as nuiMOs?

The first 12 nuiMOs characters-Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Stitch, Angel, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger. Since then so many have joined the nuiMOs family like Princess Jasmine, Ariel, Chip, Dale, Rapunzel, Jack, Sally, Belle, Nick Wilde, Judy Hoops, Moana, Goofy, Marie, Pluto, Princess Tiana, Hulk, Groot, Snow White, Anna, Elsa, Oswald, Alice, White Rabbit, Edna Mode, Yoda, Mulan, and Cinderella. New ones include- Ahsoka Tano and Tinker Belle Roughly every month, they release new nuiMOs characters sometimes it’s one or two or more, just depends. Details of Disney nuiMOs

The details in the Disney nuiMOs make them more than a typical plush. Don’t get me wrong, I love plushies!! I have a massive collection of them. Just these Disney nuiMOs are just a step above! 

Facial features are embroidered on. Disney did not miss a beat with their facial features. They even got down to the detail of rosy cheeks! Look at Minnie Mouse’s rosy cheeks! 

On average, they stand about 6 inches tall, the ideal size for you to have them come on your travels. 

Minnie Mouse fit perfectly in my Loungefly while we were at Magic Kingdom (I did not have Eeyore yet). Typical plushies tend to be bulky and not easy to carry around, especially around the parks.

Disney nuiMOs can be easily posed in different positions, while typical plushies do not pose as well. There are magnets in their hands in which you can have them hold hands with other Disney nuiMOs. Their heads can also turn. 

Disney recommends them for ages 6 and up.

 The best part of the Disney nuiMOs is styling them! The fashion options keep up with the most current fashion trends and seasons/holidays. They even have popular Disney Merchandise like the Spirit Jersey and Lougnefly’s Mini Backpack for them.

Details in the Outfits

Disney carried over the details they put into the physical nuiMOs into the clothing options, with functional zippers and hoodie strings to the quality of the clothes. Some outfits come with additional accessories like shoes, glasses, hats, etc.  New fashion pieces come out around the beginning of each month.

Signature Outfits of Disney nuiMOs

Some of the characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Miss Piggy, and Winnie the Pooh) come with their signature outfit. Out of all the nuiMOs, only Minnie’s and Miss Piggy’s signature dresses that they come with are removable.

Donald Duck’s Signature Outfit is not removable.

Additional outfits and accessories can be put over the nuiMOs’ originals that are not removable. Certain ones may not completely cover the nuiMOs’ original clothing. Click here to see an example of this. You will see Daisy Duck wearing the Tinker Bell outfit (which is currently sold out), and you can see how Daisy’s purple top is still visible under the dress.

UPDATE January 8th, 2022 -The Princesses nuiMOs, Jack, and Sally come with their signature outfits, which have some removable pieces in their signature outfit.

Disney nuiMOs are available at any Disney store/gift shop on Disney properties and online at shopDisney. Please take into consideration that these locations may not have all of the options available. My two nuiMOs and their outfits came from shopDisney due to me not wanting to chance the stores not having what I wanted(which did occur).
