During my family’s big Walt Disney World vacation this past December (2022), we got to experience the breakfast buffet at Boma- Flavors of Africa. Definitely one of our favorite meals we ever had at Disney!

Details of the Breakfast Buffet at Boma- Flavors of Africa

What is Boma- Flavors of Africa?

Boma- Flavors of Africa is a buffet-style restaurant. It serves cuisines representing different countries of Africa along with the American classic we all love. They have a breakfast buffet and dinner buffet.

The breakfast Buffet is served from 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM, and the dinner buffet from 5:00 PM- 9:30 PM. It is best to always check with Walt Disney World for the time for any changes.

Location

Boma- Flavors of Africa is located at the deluxe resort Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort- Jambo House. You do not need to be a guest at the hotel or any Walt Disney Resorts to dine at Boma.

Reservations

Like with most dine-in restaurants at Walt Disney World, reservations are highly recommended, but not required. I do recommend reservations because this is a popular restaurant, and it can have some high wait times if you do not have reservations. Remember reservations for dining can be made 60 days in advance, and can be made either thru the Walt Disney World’s website or app.

Price

For the breakfast buffet, the cost is $35 per adult and $21 per child. This does not include tax or gratuity. For the price, it is all you can eat buffet and served with basic drinks like soft drinks, juices, coffee (reg and decaf), milk, and water.

One of the juices served with our buffet is the popular POG juice. POG Juice is a mix of Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava juices. It is delicious and refreshing!

There are specialty drinks, both nonalcoholic and alcoholic, that do cost extra. I will share the menu for those specialty drinks later in the blog post.

The dinner Buffet is a little more pricey than the Breakfast Buffet with the pricing for dinner being at $54 per adult and $32 per child. Again this is the price before tax and gratuity.

Some favorite items I had were the Chakalaka and the Pap. Chakalaka is a South African spicy tomato stew, while pap is creamy white cornmeal (kind of like grits). I paired these two items together. It was heaven! The Chakalaka was not too spicy for my taste. It was just enough to enhance the flavors. I got myself two servings of this delicious combo!

I also loved the Mickey and Simba and Nala Waffles, especially when I put the sticky pecan sauce that was offered next to the bread pudding.

I ordered the Stiped and Spike Cold Brew with my buffet. It was delicious and just like with iced coffee but spiked! I love the Zebra Dome that was served on top!

The zebra dome is an Amarula Liquor mousse covered in a layer of white chocolate. On top are chocolate stripes drizzles. Found along the side/bottom are some chocolate sprinkles. I think there was a thin layer of cake as a base of the dome, but I can’t remember. The mousse was the highlight of the zebra dome. It was so creamy and decadent

I would definitely eat at the breakfast buffet at Boma again. I give it a 10 out of 10! It was super filling, and loved all the different tasty assortments of food with getting to experience some African cuisine!
